Secondary school lunch and breakfast prices go up for 2026-27

Day-to-day

What happened

On Aug. 17 the board approved higher meal prices for students in grades 7-12: lunch from $4.55 to $4.85 and breakfast from $2.95 to $3.25. The district said the change is needed to meet federal school meal rules and higher food and preparation costs.

Why it matters to families

Families of middle and high school students who pay for meals will pay about 30 cents more per meal.

The evidence

The Aug. 17 minutes record the prices and the approval. The minutes do not say how many students are affected.
