What happened

The 2026–27 budget plans a $7.35 million general-fund shortfall, up from $2.88 million in the prior adopted budget. It already counts $10 million in transfers and $3 million from a property sale.

Why it matters to families

The district plans to spend more than it brings in, even with these extra funds. This is a budget forecast, not evidence that cash has run out.

The evidence

The budget book lists $545.01 million in revenue, $565.36 million in spending and $13 million in other resources. The separate adopted posting confirms the $7,352,497 gap and August 27 adoption.
