How McCracken County plans spending and publishes Board business
District resources combine local property taxes, Kentucky state support, federal programs, food service, capital funds and beginning balances. Budget totals are planned resources and appropriations and include balances and transfers. The FY2026 unaudited annual report provides later actual figures, while the FY2025 independent audit provides the latest audited results.
The FY2027 working-budget report grand total is $101,653,824.07
The report explicitly excludes funds 360, 4XX, 6XX, 7XXX, 8XXX and 9XXX. Its $75,370,928.23 General Fund appropriation includes a $19,002,288.44 beginning balance, so these are planned resources and appropriations rather than new revenue.
FY2026 unaudited report expenditures total $109,744,959.00
The report shows $133,263,402.01 in grand-total resources, including opening balances and receipts or transfers, and $109,744,959.00 in expenditures under the same stated excluded-fund convention. General Fund actual resources were $99,775,288.44, including $16,432,568.31 beginning balance, with $80,854,073.47 in expenditures.
The FY2025 audit issued unmodified opinions and no reportable findings
The January 14, 2026 audit reported no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies, no reportable material noncompliance, and no federal award findings or questioned costs. Government-wide ending net position was $48,509,688.
The proposed FY2027 property-tax rates were unchanged
The August notice proposed 51.8 cents per $100 of real property and 52.9 cents per $100 of personal property, estimating $29,496,068.48 in revenue and $1,449,123.60 above the prior year. The notice scheduled adoption for September 17, but the collected agenda does not verify the final vote.
School councils provide the clearest public action records
MCHS and Lone Oak Middle School minutes document school-level balances, academy and staffing planning, facilities updates, enrollment and policy discussions. The district Board archive did not provide approved minutes or recordings during the reviewed window.
Agenda items identify proposals and scheduled discussions, not outcomes. Capital-project approvals, tax adoption and other Board decisions remain unverified unless a separate official publication establishes them.
