Medford Public Schools — Curriculum

The school committee kicked off 2026 by locking in the academic blueprint for the district's biggest curriculum-related project. On February 2, it unanimously approved the educational plan for the new Medford High School for submission to the Massachusetts School Building Authority, with only non-substantive updates permitted before it goes in. That approval set the instructional program that will guide the new building forward.

In mid-June, the committee turned its attention to how technology would be used in the classroom. A June 15 resolution proposed amending the district's AI guidance so that educators would not use AI tools to provide feedback or assign grades — a move that would sharpen the boundaries around AI use in teaching and assessment.

Most recently, the committee scheduled a July 10 special meeting to approve the updated Chapter 74 viability form tied to the new Medford High School. That step pairs the district's vocational-program planning with the same high-school building project, keeping the educational and career-technical programs on a coordinated path.
