District news
Board puts a mill levy override of about $23 million a year on the November ballot

What happened
On August 18, 2026 the board approved ballot language for a mill levy override, a voter-approved property tax increase for operating costs. District staff said it would raise just over $23 million a year. It would pay for existing safety and security costs and career and technical programs, a 5 percent teacher pay market increase, and expansion of both programs. The ballot language includes an estimated cost of about $18 a month for a $400,000 home.
Why it matters to families
Voters decide whether to raise local property taxes for school operations, and the district says state funding alone does not cover its costs.
