Board president voted for a contract with his cousin
What happened
On August 25, 2026 the board approved a $13,468 community health worker contract with Julia Viani. Board president Tyler Viani said for the record that he is her cousin, then made the motion and voted yes. It passed 3-0.
Why it matters to families
Board members are expected to step back from votes involving relatives. In July another trustee abstained from a vote because of a personal connection.
