What happened

The district's required financial notice shows the general fund balance dropped from $10,551,757 (2022-23) to $5,887,340 (2024-25) to a projected $1,960,647 for 2025-26 and 2026-27. In 2025-26 the district spent about $32.4 million against revenue of about $28.5 million. It borrowed $7.5 million for cash flow in 2025-26 and expects to borrow $7 million in 2026-27.

Why it matters to families

With almost no savings left, the district is borrowing short-term to pay bills, which leaves little room for surprises and adds pressure for cuts or school consolidation.

The evidence

The Notice of Financial Information (September 23, 2026) lists each figure; 2025-26 numbers are unaudited and 2026-27 are projected.
