Middle School Window Installation Paused Over Alignment and Quality Concerns
What happened
The Building Committee identified installation irregularities in newly installed Middle School windows, including gaps and units protruding beyond wall sheathing that failed to meet design specifications. The project team directed the contractor to halt further window installations until a corrected baseline/mock-up installation could be verified.
Why it matters to families
This is a documented construction quality/risk issue on a major capital project that could affect building weatherproofing, project cost, and schedule for the September classroom-readiness target.
The evidence
Ms. Inga Knox and Mr. Eric Whiteley recommended pausing further window installations until the committee and design team reach an agreement that the installation protocol is completely correct... it was explicitly noted that any window installed outboard of the sheathing fails to meet design specifications and must be corrected.
