What happened

Superintendent Ramirez submitted a resignation letter on August 18, 2026, effective that day. The board had approved his contract through June 30, 2028 on November 18, 2025 (5-2). A special meeting on August 20 put appointing an interim superintendent and hiring a search firm on the agenda.

Why it matters to families

The superintendent leads the whole district. A sudden departure leaves the district under interim leadership while it searches for a permanent leader.

The evidence

The resignation letter is attached to the August 20 special meeting agenda. The November 18, 2025 board record shows the contract vote.
