What happened

A draft interim superintendent agreement for Andrew Pearson, with a term starting August 21, 2026 and ending May 21, 2027, went to the board on September 15. The agreement addresses his ability to return to the middle school principal position. On October 6 the board scheduled talks on its expectations for the interim and on its process and timeline for a permanent search. HYA, a search firm working through the state school boards association, offered its services.

Why it matters to families

The district has a temporary leader for most of the school year while it chooses a long-term one.

The evidence

The Sept 15 agenda attaches the draft contract. The Oct 6 work session agenda lists the interim evaluation and superintendent search discussions, and Pearson is shown recommending items as Superintendent in the Sept 15 and Oct 20 agendas.
