K-6 reading and writing program pilot is underway; one program to be chosen for next year
What happened
In fall 2026, 48 classrooms in 10 schools are piloting four reading and writing programs (Magnetic Reading, HMH Into Reading, Amplify CKLA and Savvas myPerspectives). The district plans vendor presentations in January and a K-6 adoption with teacher training in early 2027.
Why it matters to families
The old Journeys program is no longer published. The program chosen will set how children in grades K-6 learn to read. Parents were told parent letters and guides are available.
