District news
New Norwood school is under construction, with completion planned for August 2028
What happened
Voters approved a bond on November 4, 2025 to build a new school, and the state BEST grant is paying most of the cost. At the September 16, 2026 meeting the project manager said about $5.1 million had been spent, including about $700,000 of local money, site work was well underway, and pricing was under budget. In May 2026 the finish date moved to August 2028.
Why it matters to families
Norwood students and staff will move into a new building, and local taxpayers repay the bond, so the schedule and cost matter to families and property owners.
