Nuestro Elementary School District runs one school, Nuestro Elementary, at 3934 Broadway in rural Live Oak, Sutter County, California. Voters elect the three-member Board of Trustees. Superintendent/Principal Dr. Karen Villalobos runs the district and the school. The board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the school library, and it often holds workshops before regular meetings. The district also authorizes a charter school, Sutter Peak Charter Academy. In 2026 it is building a TK modular classroom and modernizing its administration building.
Lease and bridge financing cover TK and modernization projects until state money arrives.

Enrollment rose from 144 in spring 2026 to 165 in August 2026.

Two of the three trustee seats, held by Clerk Emily Morton and member Bethany Schmidl, have terms ending in December 2026. On May 12, 2026 the board approved consolidating its election with the November 3, 2026 general election run by Sutter County.
