Board rejects OHS plumbing bid that was twice the budgeted amount

Facilities

What happened

At a special emergency meeting on June 2, 2026, the board voted 6-0 to reject the only bid for Phase 1 plumbing in the Ossining High School bond project. The bid was twice what the district had budgeted. The board told its construction manager and architect to bid the work again. On June 24 the board awarded the plumbing work for $1,594,000.

Why it matters to families

The high school locker room and career and technical education addition is the first big piece of the $210 million bond. Costs above budget could delay work or reduce what the bond can pay for. The rebid came in lower.

The evidence

Resolution 3.1 in the June 2 minutes, and resolution 5.5 in the June 24, 2026 minutes awarding the plumbing contract to Parkview Plumbing & Heating for $1,594,000. The documents do not give the original bid amount.
