2024 bond: high school Phase 1 construction starts and a new 7-8 building is at state review

Facilities

What happened

An August 26, 2026 update says Phase 1 at Ossining High School (locker rooms, a two-story addition and a career and technical education building) has started construction. A new building for grades 7 and 8 at the AMD campus is at the State Education Department for review, with bidding planned for fall 2026. Claremont additions are in design, and the former church renovation is planned to bid in early 2028.

Why it matters to families

The bond voters approved in September 2024 is for about $210 million. District materials say AMD would serve grades 5-6, Roosevelt would become district offices and a community schools center, and Claremont would get six classrooms and a new cafeteria. These changes affect where students go to school in the coming years.

The evidence

The August 26, 2026 slides give the status and dates for each phase. A district facilities update (February 2026) describes the grade changes and Roosevelt's future use. The $210 million figure comes from the district's May 2026 budget slides; the 2024 vote result is on the district's facilities page (1,126 yes, 338 no).
