District news
District expands wellness spaces and explains how students reach therapy

What happened
In its April 28 update, staff described Katherine Finchy as newly open, Cahuilla and Rio Vista preparing, and Painted Hills and Cathedral City High next in the wellness-space pipeline. These dated descriptions do not establish all five as currently operating.
Why it matters to families
Students can receive tiered support through wellness coaches, counselors and mental-health therapists, including in-person and Daybreak telehealth options.
The evidence
April staff described 16 centers in the expansion while May 12 reported 15; those counts do not establish that every planned room was operating. Foundation funds help create spaces and grants support staff. Parents can ask the school counselor or use the mental-health department referral form. Reported attendance and discipline associations do not prove the centers caused those changes.
