How Pikeville funds schools and makes Board decisions
District funding combines local property and other local tax revenue, Kentucky SEEK and other state support, federal programs, food-service revenue, restricted capital and building funds, and state technology assistance. Monthly reconciliations show cash and fund balances; the FY2025 audit supplies the latest collected annual actuals.
FY2025 General Fund operating revenue was $15.32 million
The audited General Fund reports $15,323,330 in revenue excluding financing sources and $15,408,933 in expenditures excluding financing uses. SEEK revenue was $4,668,824.
The FY2027 working-budget report grand total is $22.79 million
The September report balances General Fund resources and appropriations at $19,125,118, including $3.2 million beginning balance. Its $22,789,161.82 grand total excludes specified funds including debt service, so it is a budget-report total rather than all district funds or new revenue.
Fund balances ended August at $5.69 million
The August reconciliation reports $5,689,106.93 across listed funds, including $3,328,794.37 in the General Fund and negative $74,061.91 in Special Revenue.
The district approved two bus purchases
The October Board action approved a $173,216 bus, and the September action approved a separate FY2027 bus purchase for $177,283.
Current rules cover student phones, AI and school policing
Current policies limit devices during instructional time and require AI safeguards. The June manual governs SRO conduct, force, evidence, complaints and incident review.
The collected working budget is a spending plan and monthly warrant packets are approved claims, not complete annual actual expenditures. The sources do not supply a comparable per-pupil expenditure.
