Superintendent Hasty to leave in June 2027; search under way
What happened
In July 2026 the board approved Superintendent Dr. Richard E. Hasty's release from his contract effective June 30, 2027, and hired the Nebraska Association of School Boards to run the search for a replacement. The board met in August and October to plan the timeline and interviews, and has scheduled special meetings on November 24 and December 1, 2026 (interviews).
Why it matters to families
The next superintendent will lead the district's budget, hiring and building decisions. The search meetings are open to the public.
