A new superintendent and a board election this fall

Leadership changed in 2026, and two board seats are on the November 2026 ballot

Rich School District serves all of Rich County, around Bear Lake, with about 530 students. Its schools sit on campuses in Randolph and Laketown. A five-member elected Board of Education hires the superintendent, adopts the budget and sets policy. The board meets monthly at the district office in Randolph, with Zoom access, and posts its notices and approved minutes on Utah's Public Notice Website.

New superintendent

After a spring search with fifteen applicants, the board hired Rich High Principal Jesse Calder. He took over from Dale Lamborn on July 1, 2026.

New school leaders

Cooper Cornia became Rich High principal and CTE director, Danelle Wasden assistant principal and Cody Lundgren athletic director.

Low tax rate

At the June 2026 budget hearing, the board noted the district has the second-lowest school tax rate in Utah.

Board election

According to the January 2026 minutes, the board president and vice president both face opponents in 2026. Winners take office in January 2027.

Turnover was planned and handled in public. The board set up a formal evaluation process for its top leaders in February 2026, and the most recent audit received a clean opinion.
