New graduation rule for this year's freshmen

Day-to-day

What happened

A new local graduation policy requires each student to earn at least one college, career or military readiness (CCMR) point. Examples include a passing test score, a certification or dual credit. It starts with this year's freshmen.

Why it matters to families

Ninth graders must meet this extra goal to graduate.

The evidence

At the September 2, 2026 workshop, staff presented the policy. It was on the September 9 consent agenda, which the board approved. Evidence comes from the district's auto-generated YouTube captions, which can garble names and numbers.
