District and UCR set aside proposed STEM center

What happened

Staff confirmed that the district and UCR jointly set aside the proposed STEM center. The proposal had not received Regents approval.

Why it matters to families

This changes a major facilities direction. Other STEM and school-facility investments remain distinct; trustees requested clearer facilities governance policies.

The evidence

Staff said the UCR proposal had not reached Regents approval. Trustees acknowledged documentation and project-sequencing concerns and requested clearer facilities policies, with a December policy follow-up discussed; this was not a finding that all school construction must stop.
