Board declines to join Waldo County Tech's regional building plan

High-risk

What happened

Waldo County Technical Center leaders presented building options from about $20 million (repairs) to $200 million for a new regional center. One vision would have local high schools close and send students to a combined campus. On June 10, 2026 the RSU 20 board voted not to sign on to the application.

Why it matters to families

The tech center's future, and whether Searsport keeps its own high school, depends on decisions made with neighboring districts.
