District news
Football team joins up with Sangre de Cristo
What happened
The board approved a football-only team partnership with the Sangre de Cristo School District. It lasts for CHSAA's two-year cycle, starting in 2026-27. A plan to join with Del Norte failed on a 2-2 vote.
Why it matters to families
Sargent players will play on a combined team with another district. That changes where they practice, how they travel and who coaches them. Leaders said falling enrollment made it hard to field a team alone.
