District to consider 5% raises for classified employees and supervisors

Admin hiring

What happened

The board is scheduled to consider 5% raises for AFSCME classified employees and AFSCME supervisors, retroactive to July 1, 2026. The 2026–27 salary-schedule increases are estimated at $2.33 million combined; the agenda also recommends updated schedules for other employee groups without specifying their costs.

Why it matters to families

If approved, the raises would increase district payroll costs and provide retroactive pay for covered classified employees and supervisors.

The evidence

The Oct. 28, 2026 agenda says the district and AFSCME reached tentative agreements on Oct. 5 for 5% wage increases retroactive to July 1. It estimates 2026–27 salary-schedule increases of $2,263,554 for AFSCME and $70,239 for AFSCME supervisors, and recommends board approval. This is an agenda item, not a confirmed board decision.
