District news
Families must repay dual-credit or online course costs after a late drop
What happened
On August 18, 2026 the board approved student handbook changes. If a student drops a dual-credit or online course after the drop date, the family must pay the district back for the course. Work-based learning credit now requires an internship.
Why it matters to families
Families of high school students taking college or online classes could owe the district money if a student drops late. Students who just hold a paying job can no longer get work-based learning credit without an internship.
The evidence
August 18, 2026 recording, handbook changes: 'if the student drops the course after the drop date, the student's family will be required to reimburse the district for the cost of that course'; work-based learning language copied from board policy plus 'you have to do an internship to get credit'; changes approved.
