Board adopts new student cell phone policy, 6-1
What happened
On June 17, 2026 the board approved policy JICJ. Once students enter the building, phones and other personal devices must be stored and not used, except at arrival and dismissal to arrange rides or contact a parent, and for approved exceptions such as an IEP, 504 plan or medical need. Elementary and middle students may not use them in unstructured time.
Why it matters to families
This sets the phone rules for every student. Colorado House Bill 25-1135 required districts to adopt a policy by July 1, 2026.
