How is the district paid for?

About two-thirds state-funded, with property, motor vehicle and utility taxes locally

In the FY2027 tentative budget, the state provides $14.96 million of $22.2 million in General Fund revenue, including $8.87 million in SEEK funding and $6.05 million in on-behalf payments (mainly state-paid benefits). Local sources add about $7.12 million, mostly from property and motor vehicle taxes ($4.99 million) and a 3% utility tax ($885,000). In August 2026 the board proposed the '4% rate' of 46.9 cents per $100.

State SEEK funding up

Budgeted at $8.87 million, up from $8.45 million the year before.

Proposed tax rate

46.9 cents per $100 on property, above the compensating rate of 45.1 cents for real estate.

Utility tax

A 3% utility tax brought in $1.16 million last year, and $885,000 is budgeted for FY2027.

Planning for buildings

The board held a July 2026 retreat on bonding capacity and capital planning.

These are budget projections; actual revenue depends on tax collections and state funding.
