Board advances 30-home staff housing neighborhood to county review, 3-1
What happened
On October 22, 2026 the board voted 3-1 to take a proposed 30-unit, deed-restricted housing neighborhood for district staff to Wasatch County for zoning and development approvals. Students in the homebuilding program would build the homes on district land next to Timpanogos Middle School over many years. Jake Collett was absent.
Why it matters to families
The district says high housing costs are pushing out teachers; nearly 30% of teachers do not own a home. Board members raised concerns about cost to taxpayers and HOA issues, and the board will review any agreement before it goes to the county.
