Windsor Unified School District — Curriculum

Over the 2025–26 school year, the Windsor Unified School District board has made a series of curriculum-related decisions. The first, in December 2025, came in response to a Williams complaint: the board approved open-source history-social science materials for K-8 across the named elementary and middle grades, along with English and Spanish language arts materials for grades 6-8 at Cali Calmécac.

In April 2026, the board updated how the district screens early readers, approving Multitudes as the reading-difficulties risk screener for kindergarten through grade two. Then, in June 2026, the board capped the year's curriculum work by adopting Innovamat—Thinking Math as the district's new elementary mathematics curriculum.

Taken together, these actions show the district refreshing classroom materials and early-reading screening tools across multiple subjects. The new elementary math program and the K-2 screener are the most consequential items, affecting the largest groups of students, while the open-source materials approval addresses a formal instructional-materials complaint.
