Phones stay in lockers or the office during the school day

Day-to-day

What happened

The student handbook says students must keep phones in their locker or the school office. They may use them only before school and at lunch. Teachers decide when laptops and other devices are used, and phones are banned in locker rooms.

Why it matters to families

Parents who need to reach a student during the day should call the office, since students will not see texts until lunch or after school.

The evidence

The 'Cell Phones/Devices/Headphones' section of the student handbook posted as the 2026-27 handbook sets these rules. The board approved the 2026-27 student handbook on July 27, 2026, and the superintendent discussed student phone use on August 18, 2026. The posted file's own heading still reads 2024-2025.
