Board to decide on Feather River Charter School renewal Nov. 10

Financial

What happened

Feather River Charter School asked the district to renew its charter for five more years, July 2027 to June 2032. The board held a public hearing on October 14, 2026. It plans to decide on November 10, 2026.

Why it matters to families

The district oversees this charter, which runs a learning center at the old Winship school in Meridian. The district's budget papers say it keeps extra savings in case the money it gets for overseeing the charter goes away.

The evidence

The October 14, 2026 agenda lists the hearing, the 2027-2032 term, the 4305 S. Meridian Road site, and November 10, 2026 as the expected decision date. The 2025-26 reserves statement says money above the minimum reserve covers two years of charter oversight revenue.
