A small TK-12 charter run by a nonprofit corporate board, funded mostly by the state formula

Yuba City Charter School is a public charter in Sutter County with about 256 students (2024-25). It is run by a nonprofit corporate board that is appointed, not elected: three parent seats and two at-large community seats. Yuba City Unified sends a liaison to meetings. For 2026-27 the school projects $5.48 million in revenue, $3.78 million of it from the state's Local Control Funding Formula, and plans to spend $5.48 million.

The 2026-27 budget and LCAP were approved June 3, 2026.

Spent more than it took in

Board picked, not elected

Vacant seats are filled by a vote of the remaining members: James Ferreira in Dec. 2025 and Eduardo Ramirez in Mar. 2026.

Meets first Wednesday

Regular meetings start at 5:30 p.m. at 256 Wilbur Ave., Yuba City.

Board packets are not posted, so salary schedules, the lease amendment and other attachments the board approves cannot be checked online.
