What happened

The 2026–27 budget plans about 159 fewer full-time-equivalent positions across all funds. Budgeted social workers fall from 48.5 to 37.5 FTE, and guidance counselors from 131 to 119.5. Some special-education staffing increases.

Why it matters to families

Fewer funded positions can change class sizes and access to help. These district totals do not show which positions changed at Westview. FTE measures staffing time, not the number of people laid off.

The evidence

The adopted budget’s executive summary describes the net reduction. The all-funds personnel table on printed page 211 compares the two adopted budgets. The district budget page records board adoption on June 9, 2026.
