What happened

The 2026-27 handbook, approved August 13, 2026, says phones may not be used or seen during the school day except in emergencies. A first offense means the phone is taken and returned to a parent. Later offenses cost $20, then $50, then the phone is kept until the end of the year plus a one-day suspension.

Why it matters to families

Refusing to hand over a phone leads to a three-day suspension. Families may have to pay fines to get phones back.
