What happened

The 2026-27 Pupil Progression Plan, up for approval October 6, 2026, says third graders who do not reach the required reading level on the state LEAP test are to be retained unless they meet an exemption, and retained students get extra help.

Why it matters to families

Families of third graders should know a low LEAP reading score can mean repeating the grade.
