How is Clear Lake governed and funded?

2026–27 board-adopted budget

A five-member elected board governs the district. Local property taxes and Wisconsin state aid support the schools. On October 26 the board approved the budget and a $3,214,016 levy, 4–0.

Levy and budget

The August 31 electors meeting approved a preliminary $3,305,613 levy; the board later approved $3,214,016. An October 19 worksheet lists $3,164,016, leaving a $50,000 difference from the board motion unresolved.

School staffing

The board approved a reduction in elementary paraprofessional staffing from 13.5 to 11 full-time-equivalent positions for 2026–27. On August 10 it separately authorized an additional paraprofessional position if needed. The final staffing level and number of people laid off were not established.

Meal account policy

The posted food-service policy states that insufficient account balance or cash prevents a student from purchasing meals, and says reduced-price students without funds receive no alternate meal. Another clause discusses alternate meals generally; actual application and prior wording are unverified.

The October budget presentation labels a zero indebtedness row despite nonzero debt-service figures. The worksheets also differ on the Fund 10 tax figure. Current actual per-pupil spending and the effect on any individual property bill were not established.
