What happened

The 2026-27 budget adopted June 8, 2026 plans $42.1 million in general fund spending against $40.8 million in revenue, a $1.29 million gap. Savings drop to about $6.3 million by June 2027, down from about $7.6 million, after a $1.69 million gap in 2025-26.

Why it matters to families

Using savings to cover two years of deficits leaves less cushion for surprises and may lead to cuts later if revenue does not grow. Enrollment fell by about 23 students.
