Sports fees rise to $300 a season from 2027-28

What happened

On June 10, 2026 the committee voted to raise student athletic fees to $300 per student per season, $500 for hockey, with a family cap of $1,500, starting in the 2027-28 school year. It also approved a pilot scheme to sell advertising on fields, courts and social media.

Why it matters to families

Families who play more than one sport, or hockey, will pay noticeably more to take part. The athletic director told the committee costs were rising while income from user fees and gate receipts was falling, and the working group's alternative to higher fees was cutting programmes, which it decided against.
