Board approves moving 5th grade to the middle school
What happened
On December 10, 2025, the board voted 4-1 to approve a plan to reconfigure school buildings. Fifth graders now attend Eaton Rapids Middle School instead of Greyhound Intermediate. The board also asked the superintendent to keep studying how to group middle school grades.
Why it matters to families
This changes which building 5th graders attend, who teaches them and how they move between schools. The one no vote said the plan also ends 5th-grade Montessori, after Montessori preschool had already ended. In September 2026 the superintendent reported a smooth move for 5th graders.
