District overview

Evergreen Elementary School District

Funding structure, how it compares to peers, and where major projects stand.

A large K-8 district combining LCFF operations with voter-approved local facilities funding

Five-member at-large elected Board of Trustees

Evergreen's core operations are funded through California's Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), which combines state and local property-tax revenue and adds support based on student needs. The Board adopts the budget and LCAP, employs district personnel, and approves curriculum and construction contracts. Parcel-tax proceeds and general-obligation bonds are separate local sources with voter-defined uses.

The Board holds districtwide authority

Five trustees elected at large set policy and approve spending across 16 elementary and middle schools; school-level councils advise on site plans but do not replace Board authority.

The LCAP is the operating accountability link

The Board adopts the LCAP each June to connect budgeted services and expenditures to academic, access, climate, and high-needs-student goals.

Facilities money is legally separate

The $80 million Measure P bond is repaid through property taxes and may fund approved technology, security, construction, and renovation work—not salaries, pensions, or benefits.

A current operating total is not readily published

The district's public budget archive currently stops at the 2023-24 adopted budget, so this overview does not present a stale figure as the 2026-27 budget.

Enrollment and bond authorization show scale, but they are not substitutes for a current operating expenditure total. The missing published 2026-27 budget is a material transparency gap for cross-district comparisons.
