District news
AI tools now used for lesson planning across the district
What happened
The board approved Brisk, an artificial-intelligence programme for teachers and faculty, at its November 24, 2025 meeting, and by May 2026 the superintendent told the board the AI piece is in everything now, naming Brisk for lesson plans and AI portals including PowerBuddy. The district's own rules for students are set by Policy 2365, Acceptable Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence, adopted in April 2025, which requires students to follow the district's AI plan and to cite or document any AI-generated content in an assignment. In October 2025 the superintendent also described bringing the board a proposal for virtual anatomy technology with an AI component for science classes.
Why it matters to families
If lesson plans and student-facing portals are being produced with AI, parents may reasonably want to know which tools are approved, what the citation rules are for their child's work, and what happens when a student is accused of passing AI output off as their own. Policy 2365 answers those questions, and the board's own record shows the tools arriving faster than most families will have noticed.
The evidence
The November 24, 2025 meeting recording carries the superintendent introducing Brisk on that night's agenda as an AI programme to help teachers and faculty members. The May 18, 2026 recording carries him saying the AI piece is in everything now, that teachers use Brisk and should be using it if they are not, that there is an AI piece for lesson plans, and that the district uses AI portals for PowerBuddy. District Policy 2365 is marked created and edited April 2025.
