What the official record establishes

Board action pages and SBDM minutes identify recorded decisions; agenda-only and date-conflicted records are labeled as such.

Garrard County Schools is governed by its Board of Education, while five school SBDM councils make school-level decisions in their minutes. The Board record establishes local tax, operating-budget, personnel, service-contract, and policy actions. The FY2025 audit reports $10,803,441 in SEEK revenue within $26,022,454 in General Fund revenue; the reviewed record does not provide an adopted per-pupil amount.

Local taxes fund part of the operating plan

On August 20, the Board adopted 61.1 cents per $100 for real and personal property. Its notice projected $8.27 million, including $762,966.01 above prior-year revenue allocated to instruction. August 3 had approved only advertising the proposal.

The 2026-27 budget was approved

The May 21 Board record lists approval of the budget, indirect-cost rate, capital-funds transfer, insurance, evaluation and PD plans. The report does not substitute a budget total when the action page does not state one.

Facilities planning is not a confirmed construction project

The March 9 session records discussion of bonding capacity and construction options, without a recorded selection, funding authorization, or contract award.

Student phone and AI policy text is available

Student policy 09.4261 permits possession but limits use during instructional time and addresses disruption, academic integrity and privacy. Policy 08.2323 requires district procedures for safe, secure and responsible use of AI, AI-enhanced and generative-AI features, including appropriate and inappropriate uses.

The FY2025 audit reported an unmodified opinion and no material weaknesses, reported noncompliance, or audit findings. That result does not establish future budget performance.
