Charter schools to pay for their own graduates' D2 Promise scholarships
What happened
On Sept 24, 2026 the board unanimously adopted a plan for the 2024 voter-approved mill levy override ($9 million a year). Every school gets its full share first, then each school, including charters, is charged for D2 Promise college scholarships used by its own graduates.
Why it matters to families
The change decides how much override money each charter school keeps. The district said charters used about $335,000 of scholarships, and one charter's costs for last year were set aside while the dispute is settled. The plan starts in 2026-27.
The evidence
Resolution 2026-6 adopts the plan, following a Sept 4 citizens oversight committee recommendation. The board recording shows a roll-call vote with all five members in favor (auto-generated captions).
