Phones banned all school day

Day-to-day

What happened

The 2026-27 student handbook, following state law, bans students from using phones, tablets and smartwatches on school property during the school day. Confiscated devices are returned to a parent after one school day for a first offense, five days for a second and ten days for a third.

Why it matters to families

Students cannot use their phones at all during the school day, and parents must pick up any device that is taken.

The evidence

Handbook: 'the district prohibits the use of a personal communication device (such as cell phones, tablets, and smartwatches) while on school property during the school day,' followed by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd offense pickup rules.
