2026-27 budget goes above the revenue-neutral tax rate

Financial

What happened

On Sept. 14, 2026 the board voted 4-0 to let the 2026-27 budget exceed the revenue-neutral tax rate, then adopted the budget and set the local option budget at 32.4%.

Why it matters to families

Exceeding the revenue-neutral rate means the district's property tax collections can rise beyond what last year's rate would bring in. The local option budget is extra local money on top of state aid.

The evidence

Sept. 14, 2026 minutes: Resolution #2704 (exceed revenue-neutral rate), budget approval 5-0, and Resolution 2705 (32.4% local option budget).
