What happened

The advertised 2026-27 budget expects $11.45 million in general fund revenue and plans $12.32 million in spending. The gap is covered from savings, which would leave a projected reserve of $575,859 at June 30, 2027. The board adopted the final budget on September 10, 2026.

Why it matters to families

A reserve of about 5% of revenue is a thin cushion for a small district. Last year's budget also planned a drawdown, but the official 2026-27 budget shows the year actually started with $1.75 million, so how much is really spent matters.

The evidence

2026-27 tentative budget summary, general fund: total sources $11,453,842.94; total expenditures $12,318,449.70; fund balance June 30, 2027 $575,858.69. The official budget lists the general fund balance at July 1, 2026 as $1,754,943.40.
