How is the Mansfield School District paid for?

A one-school, preschool-12 district of about 110 students, funded mostly by the state

Mansfield School District No. 207 runs one preschool-through-12th-grade school in the town of Mansfield in Douglas County, Washington. Washington pays districts per full-time student, so even small enrollment changes matter a lot here. The district also relies heavily on grants for building work and shares some high school sports with nearby Waterville.

$3.70 million general fund

Adopted for 2026-27 on July 28, 2026, plus $1.46 million for capital projects.

About 110 students

K-12 enrollment was 111 FTE in September 2026, up from about 104 a year earlier. The budget was built on a cautious 85 FTE.

Grant-funded projects

$550,000 in 2026 grants for fencing, accessibility and windows; a $38,000 planning grant toward a possible $5.8 million state modernization grant.

Five elected directors

Elected to four-year terms by director district; three began new terms in December 2025.

Small districts swing a lot on a few students and one-time grants, so a single year's numbers are not a trend. Nothing in the records shows the district in financial trouble.
