What happened

The district won a $300,000 safety grant to fence the school grounds, a $150,000 accessibility (ADA) grant for wider doors and automatic openers in the ag classroom and shop, and a $100,000 Douglas County PUD grant for windows and doors. The fencing contract ($121,166.81) was awarded in July 2026, with work starting in August.

Why it matters to families

Fencing changes how people enter the school grounds and is meant to improve safety. The accessibility work helps students with disabilities reach the ag program.

The evidence

The superintendent's report in the July 28, 2026 minutes lists each grant and the fencing contract award.
