District news
District lists its lower field for sale

What happened
The board declared the district's "lower field" lots in town surplus in November 2025 and approved listing them with a realtor in December. The superintendent reported in January 2026 that the land was appraised at $338,000 and listed for $425,000.
Why it matters to families
Selling school land is a one-time decision that can bring in money but cannot easily be undone. At a December public hearing, one resident opposed turning the field at the town's entrance into housing. Talks with a possible buyer were continuing in summer 2026.
