District news
Assistant superintendent leaves for a superintendent job; district promotes from within

What happened
Assistant Superintendent John Connolly is leaving Millburn to become Superintendent of Madison, NJ. The board promoted Kyle Arlington, previously Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Governance, to succeed him as Assistant Superintendent, and separately moved Dr. Anne Richardson from Washington Elementary School Principal to Millburn Middle School Principal, both effective July 1, 2026. The Washington Elementary principal vacancy created by that move had not been filled as of the district's last collected records (July 20, 2026).
Why it matters to families
Three senior-leadership roles changed hands within a few months of each other, including a district-wide cabinet position and a building principalship, and one seat -- Washington Elementary's principal -- remained open heading into the new school year.
The evidence
